An instructructional letter to me from a friend I meet in the mental ward

 June 5th, 2016

Dear Eric (Mr. Vanderbeck!)

Growing into a better person, or rather, becoming and remembering who you truly are, may require effort and great willingness, including patience.  But remember the karmic structure can be completely overcome by the willingness of the soul.  And also remember that heaven is a "when" question, a decision or awareness rather than a place.

It is true that we are never alone, even when we are physically alone.  Tuning into the voice for God mean one must try to listen to it.  This voice speaks to us all through out the day, if only we can hear it.  There are really only two voices and it's best not to listen to the one one because it's range is suspiciousness to viciousness and not very  nice.  It wants to murder us, yet it is so vicious it would not even let us find peace in death but chases and pursue us  relentlessly beyond the grave.  Do not listen to it!  It will always tell you are bad when you are really good and it will devour  you so stay away from hearing it.  Especially essential to look upon one's hatred and realize it's full extent to get to the love underneath.  Remember also that Jesus will never leave you comfortless as he will be there when you truly need him because God hears the prayers of the heart and the particular words don't matter and the help will arrive in a form you can love and understand without fear.  I know this because I read a book called "The Mind of Adolf Hitler" and Jes was then many time when I feel down.  Also The Holy Sprit has helped me innumerable times and all you have to is ask him, or invite him to be with you and he will respond fully to the slightswt invitation, at your request. 

Say this prayer to invite him to join you:

Thoughts increase by being given away.

The more who believe in them

The stronger they become

Everything is an idea

How then can winning and losing be assoicated?

*(writen on the right side of the prayer) This will bring you closer to him than your own hand.

As I gave power to the sound of my own voice, a way broke before me I followed my own choice.

It is insane to think you are alone when you are physically alone.  At no single instant does the body excist at all.  The body is not real because spirit is truly your only reality and that means you are in a state of grace forever, that your only true reality is immortal sprit, and there is a light in you that will never die.  I think one of the scariest things I have had to overcome is realizing that in many only a spark remains.  They will be in the illusion a long, long time, most likely.  It does take some preparation to look upon stark, raving insanity with pity and compassion but not with fear.

Practicing self compassion

 Hello readers and thank you for reading. Today I attended a class on practicing self compassion the lesson was on a strategy using the acronym R.A.I.N. R. Recognize A. Accept I. Investigate N. Nurture. This class helped me to realize that how I was approaching my negative feelings has not been working, I had been looking for a strategy to run away.  For me this manifests as watching TV, sleeping too much, eating, going to a friends house as a strategy to avoid what I need to do.  What I really need to do at this point is to tidy my house, work out, draw, practice music, read books and be productive. To check in on my personal life I have been working at a job very near my house and this has been enormously helpful in putting me in a better mood over all.  I enjoy my job and the people I work with.  The pay isn't good but it's simple work, it gets me out of the house and I am happy to be making money.
